Sapphire Series

Built for harsh environments, longer meter life and fewer calibrations.

Sapphire Series

Overview

Thin-film capacitance flow sensing replaces the metal electrodes that fail first in conventional meters. By eliminating electrical contact with the fluid, this patent-pending design removes the primary cause of device degradation. The result is a highly reliable, drift-free sensor with nothing to clog, corrode or contaminate.

  • Zero-Wear Contactless Design: Thin-film capacitance technology eliminates direct fluid contact and fragile metal electrodes—the leading cause of meter failure.
  • Precise Measurement: Delivers high accuracy data thanks to an extremely low signal-to-noise ratio filtering out interference.
  • Purity Protection: Features a non-reactive surface that doesn't contaminate high-purity or sensitive fluids.
  • Industrial-Grade Durability: Utilizes a rugged sapphire coating to resist chemical corrosion, wear and abrasion.
  • Long-Term Stability: Reduces maintenance costs through a stable sensor design that doesn't drift over time.
  • Cost-Effective Design: Premium performance at a price point similar to standard electromagnetic flow meters.

  • Patent-pending flow measurement technology. Our patent-pending sensing technology eliminates traditional failure points like electrodes, delivering more reliable performance in harsh environments with minimal maintenance. Thin-film capacitance sensing; no electrodes, so no degradation; no contamination risk; resistant to corrosion and abrasion. • Technology comparison of mag meter: a table setting the standard electromagnetic meter, the standard capacitance-sense meter and the Sapphire patent meter against each other. Sensor type: intrusive metal electrodes, versus a thick alumina tube with screen-printed electrodes, versus a thin sapphire coating over thin-film electrodes that resist abrasion. Fluid contact: yes, no, no. Signal strength: strong, weak, strong at ten times a standard capacitance sensor. Noise immunity: low, good, excellent. Chemical resistance: poor, excellent, excellent. Maintenance: high from fluid abrasion of electrodes, low with no contact, low with no contact plus sapphire hardness. Accuracy: medium, high, high. Cost: low, very high, low and similar to a standard mag meter. Life span and calibration: short, degrading through corrosion, biofilm and scale; medium with the thick alumina tube; longest, sapphire being close to diamond.
